1921 Pilgrim Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. Nice light toning. Struck to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts. Cyrus E. Dallin, a Boston sculptor, designed the coin. His incuse "D" initial below the elbow is often mistaken for a Denver mintmark. However, all were struck at the home mint in Philadelphia. Featured are a Pilgrim on the obverse and the Mayflower under full sail on the reverse. Net mintage included 152,000 dated 1920 and only 20,000 dated 1921. Pop 265; 40 finer (PCGS # 9360) .
