1/2 Cent    (sold for $1200.0)

1805 C-3 R4 Small 5 with Stems F12. Sharpness VF30 but lightly corroded. No marks, and the only verdigris is few tiny specks at the T in LIBERTY and the 2 in the denominator. Rather glossy olive and dark steel with lighter steel highpoints. LDS, Manley state 2.0, showing heavy swelling in the field before the portrait. Sharply struck except for the H in HALF and CE in CENT, which are softly impressed, as usual. Not perfect, but still a decent example of this popular "Redbook" variety. Estimated Value $800-UP.
