Obverse: Hebrew unspeakable name of God (YHWH = " Yahwe ") shining thru clouds above praying kneeled figure (Belgica), flanked by two Spanish armored soldiers, which are within her fences (a similar depiction without the soldiers is found on the duit coinage of Zeeland). Date (1596) as a roman numeral in legend

Reverse: A hand from heaven holds shield to protect the people of Zeeland, which are kneeling in prayer. Dutch army below them, holding pikes and guarding the sea-shore. The Spanish army, led by standing Charles V, in a boat besieging Zeeland.Soldiers, whth rifles aiming at the Dutch defenders.
