1795 C-3 R5+ Punctuated Date. NGC graded VF-30. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate with smooth surfaces. The only notable marks are a few tiny contact marks on the chin and a short, dull scratch in the field off the chin. In addition there is a shallow planchet cutter impression rather well hidden in the dentils at the bottom of the obverse, as struck. Otherwise this piece is nearly perfect. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with the usual weakness on HALF CENT. This piece is a new discovery. It has never been brushed or "improved" in any way so there are traces of loose dirt in protected areas. Our grade is VF25 sharpness net VF20. A condition census example of this very tough die variety. Estimated Value $6,000-UP. Categories: Liberty Cap Half Cents
