1936-D Cincinnati Music Center Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. A hint of light gold tone near the edges makes this a superior Cincinnati example. The low mintage caused a stir of feverish speculation among collectors when the Mint released this issue in 1936. Prices rose almost at once to $75 for the three-coin, P-D-S set, before a reaction set in and the market tumbled in 1937-38. Only 5,005 struck. Pop 315; 59 finer, 15 in 66+, 39 in 67, 4 in 67+, 1 in 68. (PCGS # 9284) . Estimated Value $550 - 600. Categories: Commemorative Silver Coins
