About us D. F. Grotjohann is a young sole-proprietorship company which specializes in Internet sales of ancient coins. Mr. Grotjohann´s father, a much respected dealer from Munich, has been active in this industry for more than four decades and has passed down his great skills. Even his grandfather, also a respected dealer, had a great passion for this business. This family has a great numismatic tradition – 'like father like son'. Mr. Grotjohann apprenticed for two years under Dr. Hubert Lanz, owner of the highly respected Numismatik Lanz international auction house in Munich. Dr. Lanz is an excellent teacher and Mr. Grotjohann is very thankfull for all he learned during those years. Mr. Grotjohann works closely with several European/American galleries and auction houses and participates in all the important numismatic sales worldwide.
