1/2 Cent    (sold for $1250.0)

1855 C-1 R1. NGC graded MS-65 Red & Brown. Beautiful lustrous mint red fading to bluish steel brown with at least 50% of the mint color remaining. Nearly flawless in every respect. The only defects, and they are barely visible, are a tiny tick on the truncation over the 8 and a thin nick on the left upright of the U in UNITED. Nicely struck E-MDS. A very nice example of this common date. Our grade is consistent with the NGC grade. The attribution is shown on the NGC label. Estimated Value $500-UP. From "The Agora Collection".
