10 Dollar    (sold for $1400.0)

1932. NGC graded MS-64. Frosty and lightly toned. Those who collect U.S. gold know that the year 1932 was at the depths of the Great Depression when bank runs were happening all over the world (not just in this country). For some reason, Eagles struck in 1932 were put into circulation and therefore are readily available -- although "put into circulation" more properly means sent to banks which then sat on them or distributed them to frightened bank depositors. 1932s rarely actually got wear from circulation. The $20 denomination, this year, seems to have been left in the banks, the Treasury vaults, and with the Federal Reserve regional branches, and so were turned in an melted (PCGS # 8884) . Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,600. Categories: $10 Indian
