Paget's recommendation had come via his earlier design for the obverse of a medal featuring the then-Prince of Wales. Reverse A simplified version of the Royal Coat of Arms of Canada, proclaimed by King George V on November 21, 1921, are surrounded with the facial value and the inscription "CANADA" Lettering: 50 CENTS CANADA·1949 Engraver: George Kruger Gray George Kruger Gray was an English artist, best remembered for his designs of coinage and stained glass windows.
