1936 Elgin Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. CAC Approved. A nice white coin, the Elgin Commemorative tends to shine when found this outstanding. The luster is heavily frosted rather than more satin-like as seen on most Commemoratives in the 1930s. We have to assume this was intentional, and requested by the artist who designed the coin. Outside artists often were allowed to dictate certain aspects of their designs, within the bounds of the limitation of the minting presses and die preparation constraints. Again, this is a gorgeous Gem (PCGS # 9303) . Estimated Value $225 - 250. Categories: Commemorative Silver Coins
