ELIZABETH I, (1558-1603), third issue (1561-1577), silver sixpence, 1575, mm eglantine (S.2563, N.1997). Grey patina, very fine and scarce in this condition.
The Roman follis was a large bronze coin introduced in about 294 with the coinage reform of Diocletian.
It weighed about 10 grams and was about 4% silver, mostly as a thin layer on the surface.
